John Terry: Chelsea must finish in Champions League | The Sun ...

The Chelsea captain has urged his troops to spoil Paolo Di Canio's welcome party when Sunderland head to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Defeat against Southampton left Chelsea in fourth spot — two points behind Tottenham and two ahead of Arsenal in fifth.

This weekend's opponents Sunderland face a similar battle to the Londoners — but theirs is for Premier League survival.

And with the game set to be new Black Cats boss Di Canio's first game in charge, Terry knows the North-East outfit will be a tough nut to crack.

"He'll show passion. I've read a few things: he's told them 'tell your wives and your families it's going to be a lot of long days and hard work'.

"I think that's what they need because they're a great club, they've got a great set-up there and a great set of fans. The players are really good as well.

It may have been all smiles at Stamford Bridge, but Terry was less than impressed with the spot-kick awarded against him.

"Someone said after I had 0.2 of a second to get out of the way of it."My arms were down by my side and he (referee Gianluca Rocchi) booked me as well."

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Victor Moses praised Fernando Torres after his Euro double took his tally to 19 for the season.

"He's been working hard in training and scoring regularly, he scored two here and that will help bring his confidence back."
