Eredivisie wrap: De Jong support stuns AZ - Soccerway

17 March 2013 17:55 Ajax maintained their one-point lead atop the Eredivisie having an enjoyable 3-2 conquer AZ Alkmaar on Sunday. At the AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar, a Siem delaware Jong support brought Ajax for their win against lowly AZ. De Jong set Frank de Boer's part ahead in the 20th minute, clinically concluding past Esteban Alvarado following a long move from Toby Alderweireld. The visitors were in charge of the encounter when they found a moments later as an effort was fired by Daley Blind in to the bottom corner from the edge of the area. Illinois pulled a goal back two minutes into the second half through after Ajax didn't clear a large part Markus Henriksen, who went home. P Jong restored Ajax's two-goal benefit with a deflected free-kick just before the hour mark and they held on despite Jozy Altidore's late goal. Feyenoord stay static in the concept race after their victory over Utrecht, which came thanks to Daryl Janmaat's 61st-minute champion. Cedric van der Gun had cancelled out Graziano Pelle's operator before Janmaat hit the champion to keep leading spot within touching distance for Feyenoord. NAC Breda moved further free from the relegation zone with a thrashing of lowly Willem II. Kees Luyckx, Mats Seuntjens, Elson Hooi and Danny Verbeek were on the scoresheet against a Willem side five factors adrift of the relegation playoff areas. Twente ended their run of eight matches without a gain with a thrashing of Groningen moving them in to fifth. Leroy Fer, Dusan Tadic and Luc Castaignos netted in the persuasive gain at the Euroborg.
