Fulham would like to signal Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong on loan next... - The Independent

Fulham boss Martin Jol would jump at the opportunity to sign Emmanuel Frimpong on mortgage again next time. Frimpong has made only one appearance for the Cottagers because he came on a mortgage from Arsenal, nonetheless it seems the combative midfielder has made quite an impact on Jol. The 21-year-old, who looks set to start out at Sunderland tomorrow, is a result of go back to the Emirates Stadium come early july, but Jol would like to keep consitently the Ghanaian for longer. "He is on loan at the time and it would be quite expensive to take him (permanently), but I'd likely do that," the Fulham director said, if there was an opportunity to take him on loan again. "It is fairly a nice situation to be in, to get a mortgage player you do not need to pay a transfer payment. It is an effective way to do things." Frimpong joined Arsenal at nine-years-old and satisfied during his progression through the childhood rates, supporting the Gunners to FA Youth Cup glory last year. He made his debut for the north London club in August 2011, but two serious leg injuries, plus a not enough control on and off the message, have affected his progress. The Ghanaian was sent off throughout his first full look for Arsenal and was included in a canal bust-up with Samir Nasri when the Gunners played Manchester City last period, but Jol does not have any problem with the midfielder's attitude. "We talked about (control )," Jol said. "In my day you could handle, nevertheless now you have to remain on your feet. "I was satisfied with him right away. 2 yrs ago I saw him and he is the sort of person you'd like as a manger because he's versatile and this mentality have been got by him. "But he can play as well, he is an Arsenal person. He is among the few participants who has been at Arsenal since a young age. "I think Sunderland absent would suit him. His exercise is getting better and better. He did well when he played for all of us against Norwich. He is completely fit now if I need to." so I can play him from the beginning Still another midfielder Jol may have at his disposal is Welshman Simon Davies. Davies has suffered from a number of incidents over days gone by 18 months and he has not played for the club since their 5-0 win over Wolves in March last year. Tomorrow he's overcome his latest issue - a leg injury - and can feature at the Stadium of Light. "Simon Davies is back, he is fit," Jol added. "I need certainly to make a decision (on whether he features). I've a lot of players now but it might be about having him in the squad." Davies is one of several of Fulham people who're out of contract at the end of the year. Jol has challenged the 33-year-old to prove that he deserves a new package. "We like people to be quite productive," the former Tottenham director said. "He was hurt probably 50% of enough time, perhaps more, but hopefully they can keep healthy now. "I have an idea that he could still prove himself again since that's what he did previously. "In days gone by he was a large player for Fulham." PA
