System and Tottenham Hotspur are one of many Premier League clubs keeping an in depth eye on the get situation of Abdisalam Ibrahim.
The former Norwegian youth international has gone out of contract at Manchester City next season, having made just a few senior appearances to-date following a move to the Etihad Stadium the government financial aid 2007.
Ibrahim has used up loan spells with Scunthorpe United, NEC in Holland and Stromsgodset in his homeland, but a breakthrough according to Roberto Mancini remains a long way off, and the 22-year-old is actually looking for clarity on his situation while using the Citizens.
Both the Gunners and Spurs are waiting inside wings should things go awry at City, according on the Daily Star, with Gulf Brom, Aston Villa, Fulham, Swansea Town and Brighton & Hove Albion also keen on a player dubbed 'the following Patrick Vieira. '
Vieira made his name at System during nine-years under Arsene Wenger, along with the Emirates Stadium outfit have not been able to upgrade the former club chief since his exit within 2005.
Talk of 'the next Vieira' joining the Gunners is sure to excite fans, although Ibrahim is untested on the top menu level at this stage.
Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, aren't next to defensive midfielders, with Scott Parker, Sandro and Tom Huddlestone all designed to manager Andre Villas-Boas.
Ibrahim would certainly be one for future years, but again is unlikely to break straight into the first team at White Hart Lane.
