Watch Blake Griffin and Zach Randolph Wrestle to Floor in Tight Game 6 Motion

Nothing should surprise you in regards to the Memphis Grizzlies and La Clippers' first-round line. Just like their 2012 type, this collection has been as much about a clashing of basketball ability since it has been a test of wills. As is the case with any persuasive playoff conflict, though, the specific challenges are becoming even more enjoyable to watch compared to the activities themselves. The baseball purists may possibly first be drawn to the chess moves and displays created by stage guys Chris Paul and Mike Conley, but also the most casual observer needed to be drawn in to the internal showdown of Zach Randolph and Blake Griffin. When Randolph took to the media to challenge Griffin's power to deal with a high right ankle sprain, with his especially smelly "It is a big-boy game" making the media models (via Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN.com), it figured to be just a matter of time before the battle of words turned physical. Midway through the next quarter of Friday night's Game 6 in Memphis, the couple turned entangled while jostling for rebounding position on a Conley three-pointer. The twosome crashed to the ground, drawing the all-too-popular reaction from the officials: ESPN shade commentator Jon Barry had Randolph going from the half-nelson. But when my WWE memory serves me correctly (it's a little rusty at this time), I've got Randolph down for a partial piledriver and Griffin with some form of a DDT. Of course, the league office will not need to worry about correctly determining the pair's maneuvers, but there's certainly a lot to be evaluated here: Often this was Griffin's opportunity to lose his "fake difficult guy" name in front of a national audience, or he just forgot who he was twisted up with: Or possibly the savvy endorser only thought it was his latest Kia plug: I am taken by "hey UVO, to anytime period in my life apart from this."
